Default Health Points on buildings

Is there a purpose to the health points attached to buildings? The only building that is damaged by any attack is the wall. To me, it should be possible to damage or destroy other buildings through attacks, as other cities could then be completely leveled through attacks.

Is anybody with me on this?

I may be wrong, but I believe the original intent was that all buildings could be damaged in an attack. Don't know whatever happened to the idea, but I agree, they should be.

When there's an attack, you should be able to see like an icon moving over every unit saying what kind of unit they are and how many there are, so that you can see the progress of the battle. And if you're the attacker, you should be able to see the city from like the other side of the wall, and you should be able to send unit to attack a specific unit or to just patrol or guard some place during the battle. In other words, it would be cool if you were able to actually command what you're troops are doing, and what units or buildings they should attack, so that the health in buildings actually has something useful in it.

For those on a slow/unreliable internet connection, this would kill the game for them. The lag alone would make the game completely unplayable for many.
