Greetings Lords and Ladies of DAWland

Sometime earlier today a serious bug appeared. It is currently possible to take a stronghold without first taking the guard cities. This is a bug.

Using the bug to take a stronghold would be considered using an exploit in the game. The game rules are clear that using an exploit results in a permanent ban.

The game dev is working on the issue but please just save everyone the angst and don't try to use the exploit.

Apparently the stronghold bug is now fixed. Appreciation for those who took stronghold cities "by the book" even the game code wasn't working.
